BBR2 Hot Wheels™ Special Event: The Final Lap

Racers, start your engines! From November 6 through December 14, the Hot Wheels™ Special Event returns to Beach Buggy Racing 2 — and this time, it's the final lap. After years of loops, jumps and clouds of tire smoke, this will be the last Hot Wheels Special Event in BBR2.

Whether you've been racing since the very first Hot Wheels event or you're just joining the party, there's going to be plenty of cars to race and tournaments to win, so let's get into it!

Fan-favorite cars

Think of this event as a victory lap for BBR2-fan-favorite Hot Wheels cars. Rip Rod, Boneshaker, Donut Drifter, Mad Manga and 10 more asphalt-eating hot rods will all make a triumphant return to the game, each with limited edition car kits to unlock.

Collect them, race them, deck them out in stripes, flames and custom wheels. And remember: any Hot Wheels car you add to your collection will be yours to keep and drive inside BBR2, even after this event crosses the finish line.

Twisting tracks

Of course Hot Wheels isn't only about the cars. It's also about the challenge of racing on the most exciting race tracks in the world, defying gravity on massive loops and corkscrews, grabbing huge air, and drifting across the finish line a bumper's-width in first. Tackle the twists and turns of Looptastic, lose your bearings in Outer Limit, and tear through the streets of Hot Wheels Harbor. These looping, death-defying race tracks will be featured in tournaments and poster races throughout the event.

A special holiday surprise

We do have one new surprise in store for you long time fans: Everyone's favorite hot rod tractor Dragtor is getting decked out with the brand-new Holiday Hot Rod car kit. Nothing says "tis the season" like a big-wheeled dragster with a hood full of horsepower, bedecked in holiday gold.

Thanks for the Ride

The Hot Wheels special event has always been one of our favorite times of year in BBR2. We love those fire-spitting hot rods and the thrill of racing on twisting orange tracks. But it's also because of you, the fans, and we can't thank you enough for every piece of fan art, every packed tournament, and every upside-down screenshot along the way.

So let's make this one count. The Hot Wheels Special Event in Beach Buggy Racing 2 begins November 6. We'll see you at the starting line!

  • Player names are now hidden by default for younger players.

  • Fixed bug where using Blink to jump past a time gate or the start/finish line in Drift and Blitz events didn’t award the time bonus

  • Fixed missing prize images for McSkelly’s Skinny Dipper outfit and Rip Rod’s HW Legend car kit in tournaments

  • Fixed McSkelly’s driving animations with the Skinny Dipper outfit

  • Polished Oog Oog’s ability sparkles so they match the effect color on his Moog-Moog and Zoog-Zoog skins

  • Fixed a vsync issue that could cause uneven framerate, including with Battery Saver on

  • Various bug fixes, SDK updates, etc.
