The long days of summer
Friday, September 23, 2011 at 9:52AM Wow. I just realized it's been months since we posted anything up here in the old Vector Unit blog. Sorry for the extended downtime -- we've been craaaazzzy busy.
What have we been busy with?
Well there's Riptide GP for one. We haven't really made any official announcements, but I don't think it's any surprise at this point that Riptide GP is on its way to iPhone, iPad, and non-Tegra Android phones and tablets. We've been hard at work porting the game over and testing it to make sure the game is as fast and fun as possible on a whole range of new devices.
We've also been working on a brand new game which we're really excited about. I won't say too much about it, except that it involves water. And moonshine. And chickens. Stay tuned for an announcement sometime in October.
OK well that's enough time in the blogosphere. Gotta get back to work!

I saw Riptide GP used as the featured content in a full page advertisement for Samsung in a Vietnam Airlines in-flight magazine.
I cut it out, will scan and send to you guys eventually :)
Awesome, thanks Thomas! That sounds cool. And also, cool that you were flying to ... Vietnam?
Hey Guys!
Does the new Riptide Version has more content or is it just the same game ported over?
I would like to see more and longer tracks for riptide.
The content of Hydro Thunder Hurricane with the graphics of Riptide would be so awseome on a smartphone.
I own a PSP and I´mk planning to get a Vita too. From the technical standpoint Riptide stompes every PSP game out there but gameplay and lasting appeal wise it doesnt even come close to a real mobile console game. I just wish that there were more mature games for Android out there.
Dont get me wrong, Riptide is an absolutlay stunning mobile phone game but for me as a hardcore gamer it is still not a reason to keep my gaming console at home.
And the new game is it planned for Tegra 2 only at first like Riptide?
Hi Eric -
The new versions of Riptide GP will have the same tracks and vehicles as the Tegra version. We're still considering more content but we've been so busy with the new stuff we haven't had time!
The new game -- which we'll probably announce around the same time Riptide GP goes wide -- will be available across the board, for iOS and many Android devices (not just Tegra)
Can you put free ride on Riptide GP please?
